Untitled Story (Part 2)
Contemporary Issues, a class for the more intellegent students, also housed the ones who simply needed a lax place for them to live with "senioritis". Each student chatted amongst their own social groups without fear of being persecuted by the 78 year old christian teacher who, more or less, didnt care anymore. It was his last year before retirement and he may as well make it enjoyable for all.
"I told you! I stayed with my uncle and killed worverines! God!"
His musings of Napoleon Dynamite themselves were actually anything but funny, but the way he brought the character to life under his own shaggy hair and wire rimmed glasses, had Ethan and Sarah rolling with laughter. To them, nothing about the movie even made the slightest bit of sense but as soon as their five foot-seven inch friend Jamie started to immulate the main character, their faces soon contorted with hilarity.
"Dude you're gonna get us in trouble again. Farnz is already watching us", Ethan snapped back.
He didn't mean to be a prude, but with the prospect of his last summer before college in exactly 94 more school days, he ment to keep his school record just the way it was. Blemish free.
Remembering that Mr. Franz loved him as a student, he looked back at his two partners in crime, amazing at how different each of them were, but also at their similarities as well.
Jamie was the kind of guy that you would always make you laugh and indeed took some work getting used to. While his shaggy blonde hair matched with his Californian origins, his thin wirey frame contended images of west coast teenagers fed to the rest of the country through marketing of products no one would ever need. Jamie would never be found adorning Abercrombie and Fitch T's or the latest overly expensive Nike's. Instead, he settled for an old pair of black and white Chucks, a well worn 311 band shirt, and whatever pair of jeans was closest to him this morning upon waking. He was a skateboarder and a guitarist. Defying the societal urge to be one of the crowd by selling out to poorly made advertising campaigns, didnt even cross his mind when deciding what path to take in high school.
Sarah wasnt really much different. Ethan always told her that she was the perfect reflection of Janey from the movie "She's All That", a teenage satire of an 18 year old girl who would rather paint and sculpt for the rest of her life than to catch the latest flick at the movies with the captain of the football team.
Art was life for Sarah. She and Ethan had shared this intrest and it was one of the bigger reasons they had become the friends they were. She too hid her eyes behind a pair of black wire-rimmed glasses but more out of neccessity than to be daring. Wild locks of spiraling dark-brown hair slumped down to her shoulders, acessing her thin frame. Her hair wasnt the onlything that gave her small stature away. Her clothes were clingy and sexy but in a more artistic way than the revealing belly shirts on more than half of the female student body. Her choice in clothing was more subtle and left more to the imagination, while still exciting people at the same time.
A solid grean t-shirt and a pair of multicoloured chords accentated her artistic style, even as she now layed with her head between her arms on her desk. Asleep of course... (ToBeContinued)
